Application

FACIT (“FACIT” or “we” or “us”) is committed to maintaining the privacy of those who provide Personal Information to us. With that in mind, we have adopted the following policies and procedures to safeguard the personal information of those who provide Personal Information to us (individually and collectively, “you” and “your”) to ensure your privacy is maintained.

This Privacy Policy describes:

  1. How we collect, use, disclose and protect the Personal Information of users of FACIT’s website (the “Site”) and contained in email, text or other electronic messages (“Communications”)between you and the Site;
  2. The type of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit the Site or send Communications to us; and

FACIT reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. As a result, a revised Privacy Policy will be posted on the Site to notify you of any such changes. Collection and Use

Information collected through the Site mainly fall into two categories: Aggregate Information and Personal Information. 

“Aggregate Information” is non-personal information such as the type of internet browser or the website from which users linked to the Site. Users cannot be identified from such information. When a user accesses the Site, aggregate information is collected automatically in order to better understand website traffic patterns (e.g., total number of visitors, most visited sections, peak traffic times).  We may from time to time supply third parties with this Aggregate Information for use in connection with the Site.

“Personal Information” is any information about an identifiable individual. We do not actively collect your Personal Information, except where you provide such information in the course of using the Site. When we collect Personal Information about you through the Site, we do so only if you consent to provide it to us. Employment

The Site invites interested individuals to submit an application for current job postings with FACIT. Therefore you may provide us with your contact information, and any questions or comments you have about the job posting, as well as Personal Information set out in your resume, including your educational and employment history. We use this information to review your application and suitability for current employment opportunities at FACIT, as well as to contact you with respect to employment opportunities. You may also provide us with additional Personal Information by sending us Communications as part of the job application process. FACIT only retains an individual’s application and associated information provided until the employment position is filled.

Once an individual is employed by FACIT, we collect such individuals’ Personal Information to manage the employment relationship, which can include but is not limited to contact information, identification information, educational data, pension and benefits information, emergency contact information, medical, health and safety information, performance information, and other information as required or permitted by law. FACIT uses this information for various purposes relating to the establishment and management of employment, including but not limited to the administration of payroll and employee benefit programs, communication, performance evaluation and discipline, training and promotion, and other purposes as required or permitted by law.

Disclosure

FACIT will not disclose your Personal Information to third parties other than when FACIT is required to:

  1. respond to valid demands or requests from government authorities, courts or law enforcement;
  2. comply with legal processes;
  3. enforce this Privacy Policy;
  4. respond to claims that any information you provide violates the rights of third parties;
  5. protect the rights, property, or personal safety of our employees, our users and/or the public; or
  6. in relation to the sale, assignment, transfer or acquisition of all or substantially all of our assets or shares by a third party. 

Generally speaking, should a different purpose to the collection, use or disclosure of your Personal Information than the purposes set out herein be proposed by FACIT, FACIT will seek your consent at the same time it collects the information. However, FACIT may seek consent to use and disclose Personal Information after it has been collected, but before it is used or disclosed, for such new purpose.

Employees from FACIT will obtain knowledge of and access to your Personal Information for the purposes indicated above. Such employees are located in Ontario, Canada.

We store all information you provide to us behind firewalls on our secure servers. The nature of the safeguards will vary depending on the sensitivity of the information that has been collected, the amount, distribution, and format of the information, and the method of storage. 

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Information transmitted to our Site or through Communications.
